> About Dr. Garver

Dr. Patrice Garver received her Ph.D. in developmental psychology, specializing in assessment and treatment of children with learning and behavioral problems. She has Masters Degrees in the areas of Mental Health Counseling, Special Education and Clinical/Developmental Psychology. She is experienced working as a special educator, learning disabilities specialist, psychometrication, school psychologist and is presently in private practice. Dr. Garver specializes in working with children and adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD), and the student populations of the Gifted and Learning Disabled. She also specializes in psychological and psychoeducational consultation, parent and school consultation and home or school intervention programs. Dr. Garver has also received training through the Family Center at Kennedy Krieger, counseling families experiencing complex trauma and in the area of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT).

Dr. Garver counsels children, adolescents and adults who are struggling with depression and anxiety applying CBT, and other integrative approaches and therapies that meet the needs of each client. Her training in assessment helps guide and refine the therapeutic process and her training in human development provides  knowledge and understanding of issues and factors through the life span, from ages under 5 throughout adulthood.

Dr. Garver has been honored with the Outstanding Professional Award by CHADD for her untiring work with children and adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder.

Dr. Garver draws upon her extensive mental health career to help individuals, children, and families navigate the stressors of divorce. She is partnering with other mediators and a multidisciplinary team to provide mediation services through Divorce Mediation Associates, Ltd.
